Zendaya has been announced as the new global ambassador for Chanel, marking one of the most significant celebrity endorsement deals in recent fashion history. The multi-year agreement will see the actress and fashion icon front campaigns for the French luxury house's ready-to-wear, haute couture, and fragrance divisions.
The partnership was revealed through a striking black-and-white campaign shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti in Paris. Chanel's artistic director Virginie Viard described Zendaya as 'the embodiment of modern elegance' and said her ability to move between Hollywood glamour and avant-garde fashion made her the perfect choice for the brand.
Zendaya, who has become one of the most influential style figures of her generation thanks to her work with stylist Law Roach, said in a statement that Chanel has been 'a dream house' since she first fell in love with fashion. Financial terms were not disclosed, but industry sources estimate the deal is worth upwards of $30 million over three years.
