Christopher Nolan has announced his next project, a $250 million space epic titled "Perihelion" starring Matt Damon and Florence Pugh, to be shot entirely on IMAX 70mm film.
The Project
Details remain scarce, but the film reportedly follows a crew navigating the first manned mission to the sun's corona using experimental shield technology. Nolan has been developing the concept for seven years.
Technical Ambition
The production will use a combination of practical effects and a new IMAX camera system Nolan helped design. Filming begins in September across Iceland, Morocco, and a massive studio build in London.
